The 2011 Programme commenced on September 21, 2011 at The University of Auckland and consists of a cohort of 12 participants, representing various industry sectors. The BEST Pasifika Leadership Programme blends post-graduate courses for business leadership and entrepreneurship interwoven within a Pasifika context.
An Ex-All Black, a former Silver Fern, an Operations Manager at Skycity and a Wesptac Bank Manager are just some of the selected candidates in the inaugural BEST Pasifika Leadership Programme.
In partnership with The University of Auckland, the BEST Leadership Academy is headed by CEO Beatrice Faumuinã, ONZM, World Champion and Olympian Athlete.

These highly interactive workshops will provide stimulating deeper leadership insights and explore powerful leadership actions through a Pasifika context and role of leadership in culture.

Dr Selina Tusitala Marsh is the first person of Pacific descent to graduate with a PhD in English from The University of Auckland, where she now lectures in Maori and Pacific literary studies. She established Pasifika Poetry, an online hub that celebrates the poetry of tagata o te moana nui, the peoples of the Pacific. Her first collection of poetry, Fast Talking PI, won the Jessie MacKay First Best Book Award in 2009.
