What the BEST Pasifika Leadership Programme Looks Like

The BEST Pasifika Leadership Programme combines the strengths of an internationally recognised University Business School with a powerful developmental process interwoven within a Pasifika context.

The Pasifika strand within this Leadership Programme is an opportunity for emergent leaders to redefine and refashion "Leadership" and "Mentorship" fit for purpose within the Aotearoa-NZ context, taking account of the uniqueness of Auckland as the largest Pasifika city in the world. As a participant in this programme you will identify yourself in this context both personally and professionally in your own leadership contexts in a way that can powerfully influence and change the landscape for Pacific peoples.

The "Pasifika Mat" Workshops

"I see the Pasifika Mat as weaving strands together from the inward leadership journey, providing the base into which vibrant, innovative, unique leadership dreams and visions are woven."

Dr. Selina Tusitala Marsh is the first person of Pacific descent to graduate with a PhD in English from the University of Auckland, where she now lectures in Maori and Pacific literary studies.

These highly interactive workshops will provide stimulating deeper leadership insights and more powerful leadership actions. The workshops not only provide innovative opportunities to learn, they also create a safe environment in which to discuss, discover, describe, and practice new ways of leading. There are 14 Workshops on Saturday, each fortnight, from 8am-12pm, throughout the 18 month programme.
